ROAD TO BELUM

Road to Belum. (Belum pernah pergi lagi)

Satu lagi projek mega outdoor organized by Outrecs. Kali ni kebanyakan participants dah graduate; salah satu perbezaan activity dulu and sekarang yang aku joined. Other than that, dulu Outrecs University level means most of the fund of the poject finance by the University Student Admission (STAD) and the name is Outrecs itself. Kali ni Outrecs telah menjadi OXC = Outrecs Xtreme Centre but Outrecs itself still remains at MMU Melaka, who is current Outrecs president?

OXC is a company setup by Fathee. This company organizes outdoor activities such as motivational camp for other party. If I’m not mistaken the company had organized several motivational camp such for Kolej Komuniti students and etc. Seperti biase, projek outdoor ni Fathee lah mastermind @ leader @ organizer. There were 10 participants and most of them are my friend from MMU Melaka, and several new friends. As usual Outrecs always make new friends for me; this is one of good qualities I can gain from outrecs:

  • Fathee @ Program director

  • Jaon@asisstant program director, Haidir@Toke cengkerik, Poyo(lesen ikan bilis)

  • Gee (paling byk dpt ikan), Lina, Adi

  • Asrul,Piz Mat, Aku

Tekong: Abg Nan,Mie,Mat

Day 1:

Geng KL : Aku, Poyour, Asrul, PizMat departure at about 11:30 pm from Tmn Danau Desa. We stopped at Simpang Pulai to fetch Haidir @ Toke Cengkerik. Sepanjang jalan ke simpang pulai kereta Pizmat takde radio (radio rosak), so bile Haidir joined terubat gak la kebosanan perjalanan sebab alunan cengkerik haidir sebayak satu plastic guni beras 10 kilo. For about 5 hours, at last we arrived at Tasik Banding. Fathee and the rest of the participants already waited there. It was good to gather again after such a long time after graduated.

At about 630 am, we enjoyed beautiful scenery of Tasik Banding. The water level was at high level at the moment we had there. Maybe because we were in the month of January and people says, it is normal because the rain seasons in September and December.

7:30 am we stepped on our boat house which we stayed on it for about 3 days 2 nights and had our breakfast (nasi lemak, kueh, kopi) near jeti awam pulau Banding.

8:30 am we began our jorney to Belum. Sambil tengok scenery hutan Belum, Semua participants dah tak sabor nk memancing maklumlah ade yang baru nk blaja memancing. Ade machine yang baru keluar kotak, ade rod yang bau kedai lagik, Ade pulak tu baru bukak rapala dari plastic tak sempat nk guna lagi dah terjatuh masuk tasik (malang… kenyang Toman tasik Belum makan rapala bau kedai) Begitulah nk gambar kan betapa excited nyer masing2 nak mancing toman kt tasik belum.. Masing2 target nk naik toman 5 kilo… (cita2 mmg x nk kalah… hehehhe)

1200 pm, Bro Nan siang ikan baung hasil belian dr org asli untuk mkn tgh hari geng OXC kali ni. Orang asli tu naik speed boat and datang ke boat house OXC. Total harga ikan-ikan baung tu RM 10 plus beberapa batang rokok surya. Seingat aku ikan baung tu buat masak Tomyam. First time aku tgk ikan air tawar org buat tomyam.. tp layan gak la.. lawan lauk tomyam baung tu adalah sayur kobis goreng kicap. 5 stars untuk abg Nan masakkan untuk kitorang tgh hari tu. Sambil tu, geng OXC semua buat activity masing2, ade yg sibuk dengan rod n machine, ade yg lepak tgk scenery, aku and yg lain dok layan karaoke. Karaoke atas boat house sambil tgk hutan and tasek mmg layann…

2pm: Boat house melabuhkan sauh ke pit stop pertama. Our journey headed tu Sg.Tiang the first sungai at tasek belum. Thanks to bro Baha yang bagi pinjam instruments ni kat aku, maklumlah aku x pernah mancing kat tasek, sebelum ni pun kat pantai and kolam, casting mmg aku tak pernah so this was my first experience casting rapala kt tasek.

5pm: Sampai petang sorang pun tak dpt ikan. Maklumlah budak baru belajar… 5:30 pm tekong mie pun bawak la semua participants naik speedboat untuk boat tour sambil semua participants membawa senjata pancing masing2. Ader yang guna spinner ader yang guna goldfish, aku pulak lagi suka guna poper walaupun ader rapala rempit sebab kalau pakai rempit mesti sangkut dengan rumpai sbb rempit ni tenggelam. So poper lagi bagus sebab terapung atas air.

Early at 3am was rain heavily. Pagi2 lagi OXC dah membuat percubaan sekali lagi untuk menarik hasil dari tasek belum especially Haidir dengan spinner nya.

11am we moved to our next pit stop (near waterfall). And again we were presented by a spectacular scenery of Belum Rainforest. At the same time, Lina goreng ikan2 hasil dari pukat Tekong Nan untuk makan tgh hari.

3pm we arrived at sg tiang waterfall. Main activity kat sini dah tentulah mandi manda. And on this day, most of us got our catch kecuali POYOUR (poyour dapat lesen ikan bilis esok nyer). Sebarau, kelah, baung adalah ikan2 yang sangkut pada mata kail umpan cengkerik masing2. (Port ikan ni diluar kawasan waterfall, at about 500m from the waterfall.) Mlm tu Gee champion sbb gee paling banyak dapat catch. Jaon pulak tukar2 port mancing.. mane org dpt ikan situ jaon ader tp mlm baru jaon dpt catch… hehehhe… sampai mlm semua participants berpesta ikan until 2am sampai ader yang dh tertido atas kerusi.

3pm the next day after puas memancing and mandi manda kat waterfall semua bersiap2 untuk balik. Dalam tentative activity sepatutnya ader tracking rafflesia, tp semua malas nk gi tracking so we opted not to go.. Maybe next time…

Conclusion: If you ask me will I return for the same activity? Yes absolutely I’ll come back here. Rating for this activity: 8 stars out of 10. Another 2 stars left if more participants, if ajai, fazi, laloque, and etc came along for this vacation of course will add more fun to our gathering. Thanks to all of you for organized this trip. Don’t forget to invite me for upcoming event.

*Today is my 26th birthday. Thanks to Allah who gave me life for all these days. We should remember that we must love our family. If you have wife, love your wife and your child or children. Don’t betray them, keep in mind that we are getting older, who else you have other than your family that will take care of you when you get grey… appreciate them, and think twice before you do wrong behind them because we live with karma and one day you’ll get something of what you did. You can damage your self but don’t damage other people hope, faith, and future. Love your family… (To Anaz IT)

Convocation, Part 1

A chapter of my life is ending…
it’s time to say goodbye to classmates, lecturers, classes and labs…
exams, quizzes, burning the midnight oil mugging for exams, group projects…you name it..
being broke before the next allowance…
being carefree students, roaming around the faculty hallways, clc concourse…
having fun on campus, ‘lepak’ at mamak at 3pm, watching football with classmates…
all these will be kept as sweet memories of my life…

Life as University students was always fondly remembered as one of the best times in a person’s life…
No doubt, you’ll feel the same way too… Congratulations to me and my classmates…

Visit Melaka: Jonker Walk

Located in the heart of Melaka city is the quaint, evergreen jonker walk, a pedestrian mall-cum-bazaar where you would curios, trinkets, knick-knacks, potteries, souvenirs and so course food on fridays and over weekends from 6pm onwards.

Thousand of visitors have visited jonker walk according to one retailer there and they claim look foward to coming here again..

Besides eateries, you even find a motorcycle shop that specialized in big bikes smacked in the middle Joker Walk at one time known as Jonker Street.

There is without doubt that Jonker is the place to grab the best food of Melaka. Grab a bite of one of the best pineapple tarts in Melaka, perhaps Malaysia, authentic Nyonya Cendol or simply enjoy the world famous Chiken Riceball of Melaka and seasonal food like Mooncakes and so on all here in Jonker Walk.

back again

It has been a long time since I added an entry here! Unfortunately, over the last months I have been way too busy and i shut off my blog to maintenance mode. Stress, pressure, a man need to be applied with a pressure safety valve to let out the high pressure out from the tank (picking up what zidni said about controlling a man’s life pressure.. hahaha).

A lot of things happened recently. I had finished my final year project with an average grade but i still have something to do with my degree. I’m an average student or maybe a lousy one. And recently, a lot of ideas coming out from my head and i’m having problem to separate the best. But i did choose one and i hope i had made a right decision. Millions thanks to my love one, my advisor. By the way, thanks to everyone who is spending time to read my writings that not good in any circumstances. I promise to myself that in my next entry i’ll write something that benefit to me and you out there. thanks..

Fyp Final Report

Final Year Project Title: A predictive cutting force model for end milling

Final Year Project Supervisor: Senior Lecturer: Dr. Lee Tian Soon (click here for his details)
Final Year Project Moderator: Associate Professor: Dr. Tio Kek Kiong (click here for his details)

Abstract:
There are several proposed predictive cutting force model in machining industry. Engineers are keeping developing a new model to predict cutting forces. The cutting forces are the response that influenced by several factors during machining. A more precise, low cost and sustainable cutting performance are results of a good model.

This project is about a predictive cutting force model for end milling assessment. It is an investigation on the model whether it is valid or not. The methods of investigation are simulations and experiments. Throughout the project, the investigator demonstrated a comprehensive way to evaluate the model. It was achieved through the combination experimentally determined cutting forces with the C++ codes simulation program and statistics analysis (multiple regression method). The model was tested using two flutes end milling cutting tools with several factors. In this project, the factors that response the forces were spindle speed, feed rate and axial depth of cut. At the end of the project paper, the investigator proved that the particular model is good to predict the end milling cutting forces.

Final Year Project Description:
The main purpose for this project was to identify cutting forces of end milling from experimental data. It was an investigation on validation of the theoretical 3D model of cutting force in end milling with analysis on the experiment data. This analysis process involved the use of simulation program developed using Microsoft Visual Basic and large matrix analysis using MATlab software. At the end of the analysis, Minitab statistics analysis software was used to do the multiple linear regressions which are to predict the forces. There are several reasons why information from material removal is important which were obtained from this research:
1. To improve the cutting techniques.
2. To produce products of greater precision at greater useful life.
3. To obtain the ability to increase the rate of production and cutting performance.
3D dimensional cutting force formulation. It was a case study of particularly flat end milling cutting tools.
